THREE TIPS FOR MOUNTAINEERS IN SALZBURGER LAND

In our region you can go on a variety of beautiful hikes of all levels of difficulty. You are usually rewarded with a magnificent mountain panorama and/or a hearty snack.

LACKENKOGEL (APPROX. 2 H)

The summit of our local mountain, the Lackenkogel, can already be seen from our holiday flats. After a short drive to the Sattelbauer, you walk through the forest for about an hour to the Lackenalmen, a beautiful alpine pasture area with wonderful flora and the possibility to refresh yourselves in the Lackenalm. After a short break, it takes about another hour to climb up to the Kogel (2,051 m). From there you can admire the whole region from above and our house is also visible.

SULZENSCHNEID (APPROX. 1 H -2,5 H)

The Sulzenschneid (1,950 m) is a particularly beautiful summit and can be reached from the Wallehenhütte within one hour. From the top of this mountain you can see the Torstein, the Bischofsmütze, the Rötelstein and, on a clearly day, even the High Tauern with the Großglockner, the highest mountain of Austria.
Those who want to hike a little longer can extend the hike by a 1.5-hour stage from the valley floor up to the Wallehenhütte. The starting point for this tour is in Filzmoos, about 30 minutes away from our house. A toll road leads on to the Hofalmen area. From there you can start hiking directly or still drive up the gravel road to the Wallehenhütte, where, by the way, you can get very tasty “Krapfen”.

GERZKOPF (approx. 2 H)

The path to the Gerzkopf (1728 m) with its small black lakes and the wishing bell leads through an enchanted forest and then through a mountain pine belt. Due to the special flora and fauna, the unique high moor has been declared a nature protected area. This tour is also a beautiful sunrise hike, which starts at the Knappbauer at an altitude of 1,180 m (20 minutes by car from us) and takes about 2 hours.

We will be happy to provide you with further hiking and excursion tips for Salzburger Land directly on site.
